Past Student Ministers

  • Sarah

It was a great joy to be part of Two Ways Ministries from 2023-2024. I’ve moved to Melbourne to serve as an AFES staffworker with Deakin University.

I’m excited to open the Bible with international students in particular, where there are wonderful evangelistic opportunities to the nations. I also champion Training (an AFES mission area), with the hopes of raising up leaders and gospel workers for the kingdom.

Please pray that God will save many souls for his glory in this city, and that my life will adorn the gospel as I settle in a new place and staff team!

  • Tony

I was with Two Ways Ministries in 2023-24 and particularly benefited from the regular and rigorous reflecting we did on all aspects of ministry. It was simply a joy serving alongside a team that was godly and wise.

I have since taken up post at Enfield and Strathfield Anglican as the Youth Minister. There is a wonderful team of leaders and together partnering with parents we seek to evangelise, disciple and train youth in our parish to know and follow Jesus. There is a great gospel opportunity to reach and grow the next generation here with the complexities involved in serving youth across different cultures and sites.

  • Gloria & Bill

It was great to be a student minister with Two Ways Ministries in 2024 and serve alongside a fantastic team. I have now joined my husband Bill at St John’s Anglican Cathedral, Parramatta, where we are both student ministers.

Give thanks for the opportunities we have to share the gospel and build up the body of Christ at St John’s. Please pray as we begin this new season of marriage that God would ground us both in his word so that we can live humble and godly lives for his glory together. Please also pray for wisdom and prayerful dependence on God as we consider serving God overseas or interstate after College.

  • Ashleigh

I was a student minister with Two Ways Ministries from 2021–22. I now live in Brisbane and serve on campus at QUT as an AFES staff worker with FOCUS.

During the week I open God’s word with international students to encourage and equip them to serve Jesus with their whole lives, wherever they may be.

Give thanks for the students and the relationships built in the group! Please ask God to continue to bring many international students at QUT to know and love him, and for wisdom for me in loving and leading them.

  • Mike & Eunice

Its been two years since the Woos have relocated back to Malaysia and we are expecting our third child very soon! I expect a house of 5, 3 and 0 year olds to be joyfully chaotic! Over the two years, we’ve been building up to plant a church in Malaysia, from a bible study in our living room to launching Gracepoint Evangelical Church just 8 months ago. Its been a joy to see Christians growing excited about the word, the gospel going out, and a few people coming to Christ. Please pray that God will graciously strengthen us for his glory.

  • Candy & Lachlan

Hi, I am Candy, married to Lachlan with Beau and a second baby on the way!

I was a student minister with Two Ways Ministries from 2015–2017. In 2025, we are moving to Taiwan with CMS, to join a team that is currently involved in disciple-making and church renewal. Our intention is to live there long-term, and our prayer is that many would come to know Jesus, turning from idols to serve the true and living God. Pray for us, that God would enable our family to always live out the truth of Philippians 1:21 “To live is Christ, to die is gain.”

  • Chris & Thom

I’m Chris, married to Thom. I was a student minister with TWM from 2016-2017 and a deer in headlights for most of it. However, I had the privilege of witnessing the beginning of significant ministries like Forums and Trajectory and the lessons learned during that time were formative for me. My husband and I serve as lay people at a small church in South West Sydney where I love teaching the Bible to women and children (including my own two boys, Charlie and Finn).

Please pray for the area of South-West Sydney and for the gospel to go out and for the church to be equipped to serve our community in various ways.

  • John & Ailsa

Hi I’m John. I was a student minister with TWM in 2017. Ailsa and I serve the Lord Jesus in Sevenoaks, Kent where I am the Congregational Pastor for the offsite congregation of St Nicholas Church and am responsible for teaching and leading that congregation as well as equipping the rest of the Parish in evangelism.

Thank the Lord for the trickle of people coming to Christ through reading Mark’s gospel via our Christianity Explained Course. It’s not so much the course itself but people opening the Bible together and it takes over.

Pray that Ailsa and I would teach and model Christ so that the church would grow in maturity and number and that the Lord would open a door for the gospel to the many people of the Sevenoaks region.

  • Talar

Hi! I’m Talar. I was a TWM student minister in 2017. I’m now the children’s and families’ minister at Naremburn and Cammeray Anglican Church.

Our church has recently been challenged again to look to the glorious Jesus Christ who establishes life and gifts it to us.
“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him” John 3:36 (familiar to many of us who have learned TWTL)

Please pray that God would open the eyes of the blind, so that they would see the glory of Jesus and know the life he offers.

  • Peter & Jodie

I (Peter) had the privilege of training with Phillip in 2017- 2018. I currently serve as the assistant minister of All Saints’ Belfast and UniChurch Belfast, Northern Ireland. Alongside weekly preaching and one-to-one Bible studies, I teach weekly at the “Ministry Training Academy”, a ministry of the West Trust that equips Christians in their handling of God’s Word.

On top of looking after our two sons, Jodie meets regularly with young women from our two congregations. Each year we grow increasingly grateful for everything we learned from Phillip and Two Ways Ministries.

Please pray for our congregations in Belfast, as we seek to evangelise the lost, equip the saints, and raise up a new generation of gospel workers.
